Last week on 28 August the new officers had the first officer meeting of the club for the year. All the officers were present. The officers and magistra brainstormed ideas for the club this year.
The week following labor day there will be another officer meeting on 4 September 2018. The following Tuesday on 11 September 2018, there will be a general meeting, ice cream social, and possible pizza.
The officers are very excited about the upcoming year in Latin! Everyone is welcome to the general meeting.
If anyone is interested in joining Latin Club, contact a current officer in Latin Club or Magistra about when to pay dues.
We held our first meeting of the year today, with one of the biggest attendances in the past 4 years. The four and a half officers all attended, although yours truly (Michael) had to temporarily assume emergency powers to open the meeting in lieu of our president, who came fashionably late. Much ice cream was served, and 2/3 of the serving utensils were broken by our officers.
We also discussed Convention and played this year's first round of Certamen. We're looking forward to more great meetings and to get this year rolling!
Welcome to the CMH Classics Club blog, the official blog of the Catholic Memorial chapter of the JCL. We'll be using this to recap big events throughout the year and share more about our daily happenings.
As the school year draws near, we look forward to starting with our new officer board, led by Sam Kramer as Imperator. Although our club has grown smaller, we are finding great interest among incoming students as well as students who are just learning about the JCL. We are also welcoming a new Latin teacher, Magistra Reinmuler, and looking forward to good times in and out of class with her.
That's it for now. Stay tuned for more updates.
